The handle is made from solid Oregon Red Alder a sustainable hardwood that flourishes in the Pacific Northwest.  The Bread Slicer is made of natural Alder and we also offer them stained for a variety of finishes. The blade is made of stainless steel, double-ground and serrated for ultimate sharpness.
