Lizzie Fortunato Jewelry
Lizzie Fortunato launched her collection in the spring of 2008 from the sofa of a Lower East Side walk-up. The designer started designing jewelry years earlier during undergrad at Duke and developed a small following that gave her the confidence that she was onto something. On the 24th birthday, her twin sister Kathryn gave her Goldman Sachs bonus check - $10,000 - with a note that said “follow your dreams.” That was the only funding Lizzie Fortunato Jewels ever received.
In 2010, Kathryn joined full time, and since then they had a few office moves, two weddings, two babies, and built our team to 14. They still design and assemble many styles in our collection in NYC using a range of materials and components from all over the globe. They prioritize the integrity of their products, team members, and vendors over exponential growth.
Each piece of design statement jewelry is created in 24k gold-plated brass and sterling silver, as well as 14k-gold fine jewelry with semi-precious and precious stones.
With the help of skilled artisans and vendors around the globe, they source materials that are often limited edition, handmade, or recycled.
There signature is a collection of mixed-medium designs that are often comprised of many different materials. The resulting jewelry designs are stellar.
